Mori
Terms of Use

These terms are the agreement between you and us about using Mori. We have kept them short and written them in plain language, because terms nobody can read are terms nobody has agreed to.
1. Who you are agreeing with
Mori is published by Ibrahim Gul Butt, trading as Anggler (“we”, “us”). Contact: Contact@anggler.com.
By installing or using Mori you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.
2. What Mori is
Mori is a personal diary app. You write or speak; it stores what you wrote on your device; you can read it back later. It is free, and there is nothing to buy inside it.
Optionally, you can create an account so your diary is copied to our servers and appears on your other devices. That is a convenience, not a requirement, and the app is complete without it.
3. Your writing is yours
You own everything you write, record and photograph in Mori. We claim no ownership of it and no licence to it beyond the narrow, technical permission needed to store it and send it to your own devices when you have asked us to sync.
We do not read your diary. We do not use it to train anything. We do not sell it, share it, mine it or show it to anyone. Mori has no advertising and no analytics.
4. Your account, if you have one
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
- Give us a real email address you control, because it is the only way to recover your password.
- Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- One account is for one person. Do not share it.
- You can delete your account at any time, in the app or by emailing us. See Delete your account.
5. Things not to do
Do not use Mori to store or transmit anything unlawful, and do not attempt to break into, overload, reverse-engineer for the purpose of circumventing security in, or otherwise interfere with our servers or another person's account. We may suspend or delete an account that does these things.
6. What we do not promise
Accuracy of transcription
Mori converts speech to text using a model running on your device. It makes mistakes, and it makes more of them in some languages than others. Voice input for Urdu and Roman Urdu is experimental and its accuracy is materially lower than for English. We have measured this rather than assumed it. Always read a transcript before relying on it. Mori's clean-up step can only remove or reformat words you actually said; it never adds any.
Availability
The app works offline and will keep working whether or not our servers do. Sync, however, depends on a third-party service and on your connection, and we do not promise it will be available at any particular moment. Mori is provided free and we may change or discontinue the sync service, with reasonable notice in the app where we can give it.
Your data
Please keep your own backups. Mori can export your whole
diary (Profile → Export & backup) as PDF, text, Markdown, or an
encrypted .mori archive. We strongly recommend doing this
periodically.
Software fails, phones are lost, and operating systems change. While we
take real care with your data, we cannot guarantee against loss,
and to the extent the law allows we are not liable for it. If you forget the
passphrase to a .mori archive, it cannot be recovered by
anyone, including us. That is the point of it.
Mori is not a professional service
Mori is a diary. It is not medical, psychological, legal or financial advice, and it is not a crisis service. If you are struggling, please talk to a qualified person or your local emergency services.
7. Provided “as is”
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mori is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for loss of data, arising from your use of Mori. Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app, which is nothing.
Nothing in these terms removes rights you have as a consumer that cannot lawfully be removed. If you are a consumer in the UK, the EU or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protections, those rights apply in full regardless of anything written here.
9. Ending it
You can stop using Mori at any time by uninstalling it, and delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend an account that breaches section 5. If we ever discontinue Mori entirely, we will give you notice in the app and time to export your diary before any server data is removed.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is material we will say so in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Mori after that means you accept the new terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the courts of Pakistan have jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections of your own country's law and may bring proceedings there.
