Delete your account

This page explains how to delete your Mori account, the diary app published by Ibrahim Gul Butt, trading as Anggler, and exactly what happens to your data when you do.
Most people do not have an account. Mori works fully without one, and if you never signed in there is nothing on our servers to delete. Uninstalling the app removes everything, because everything was only ever on your phone. That also means it is gone for good, so export a backup first if you want to keep it.
Option 1: delete it in the app
This is immediate and needs nothing from us.
- Open Mori and go to the Profile tab.
- Tap Account.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm. Your account and everything it holds is erased from our servers straight away.
Option 2: ask us by email
If you no longer have the app installed, or cannot sign in, email Contact@anggler.com from the email address the account uses, with the subject Delete my Mori account.
We will verify the request comes from the account holder, delete the account, and confirm by reply. We aim to do this within 7 days and will always complete it within 30, as required by law.
What gets deleted
Deleting your account permanently erases all of the following from our servers:
- Your account itself, and your email address and password hash
- Your display name
- Every diary entry: title, body, transcripts, cleaned text, moods, dates and languages
- Every transcript segment
- Every photo you attached, including the image files themselves
- Every voice recording you synced, including the audio files themselves
- All sign-in records associated with the account
The deletion cascades: no orphaned row, image or audio file is left behind. It is a real deletion, not a flag. There is no soft-delete state and no recovery window, so we cannot undo it for you afterwards.
What is retained, and for how long
Nothing. We keep no copy of your diary, no backup of your account and no residual profile after deletion. We hold no billing records because Mori takes no payments, and no analytics records because Mori collects none.
Ordinary server logs kept by our hosting provider may briefly contain the IP address of a request; these rotate automatically within 30 days and are not linked back to a deleted account.
The copy on your phone is separate
Deleting your account removes the cloud copy. The diary on your phone stays exactly where it is, and Mori keeps working as a local diary, because deleting an account should not destroy the writing you did before you had one.
To remove the local copy too, either use Profile → Privacy & security → Delete all entries, or uninstall Mori. Once you do, it cannot be recovered by us or by anyone.
Just want to stop syncing?
You do not have to delete anything. Profile → Account → Sign out stops the sync and leaves every entry on your phone. You can sign back in later and pick up where you left off.
